826CHI is a non-profit creative writing, tutoring, and publishing center dedicated to amplifying the voices of Chicago youth.

826CHI supports Chicago students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and helps teachers inspire their students to write. We believe that great leaps in learning can happen with individualized attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

OUR WORK MAKES AN IMPACT

I learned a lot about myself that I have not ever been told by anyone else, I guess I

found another part of me. —Kunjame, Student

For myself, but most of all, for students, working on a real, long-term goal that will

produce something tangible is very meaningful. For students, this is often

unprecedented. —Maria, Teacher
