Fund a professionally printed and distributed collection from the creative minds and pens of Chicago students. Your gift tonight will be acknowledged in this book.

Ensure two students have access to individualized after-school tutoring and Writing twice a week for an entire school year.
$2,500 - Feed the beast:
Keep our printer running and full of ink for an entire semester, ensuring 826CHI’s youngest students leave our morning Field Trips with a published book in hand.

Support elementary school students as they practice writing and storytelling during in the Word Laboratory summer camp.

Live Auction and Paddle Raise Guidelines
Live Auction and Paddle Raise Rules
Upon entering the event, you will be assigned a bid number. Your paddle (with bid number automatically assigned to you) will be at your table in an envelope. Please find your paddle upon taking your seat.
Live Auction and paddle raise bidding will begin around 9pm.
When bidding, please hold up your bid number toward the auctioneer, and wait until your number is called.
If a group is bidding on one item, please designate one person to place your combined bid. Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only.
All bids will be final and with winning bid determined by the auctioneer. A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item.
Successful bidders will be handed a receipt for the live auction item won immediately following completion of bidding on that item. A volunteer will deliver the receipt directly to you at your table.
The successful bidder will be charged automatically if a pre-swiped credit card is on file. If no card is on file, please approach the registration table to complete the payment process. If bidder does not wish for their pre-swiped card to be charged, please approach the registration table to provide an alternate card, cash or check. All successful bidders must pay for their item before leaving the venue. If necessary, arrangements should be made for items to be shipped to successful bidders after the event.
Payment can be made via cash, check, or credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover or American Express). Make checks payable to 826CHI, payments should be made at the registration table.
All items must be paid for by the end of the evening. We gladly accept Cash, Check, MasterCard, Amex, and Visa. Payments should be made at the registration table. Once you have paid for your winning items or paddle raise gift, you will be issued a receipt via email in the week that follows.
Terms of Sale
Unless otherwise noted, all certificates for goods and services must be used within one year of the auction date. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds. 826CHI does not make any expressed or implied warranties or guarantees on auction items regarding the quality or value of items or services. Reservations for accommodations must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise noted. No refunds will be allowed on accommodations
The Program lists the fair market value of each item. Any amount you pay in excess of the fair market value would normally be available to you as a charitable contribution for tax purposes. Please check with your tax advisor for specifics. We will mail you a letter for your records.
